A letter from our head teacher
The government have announced that from Tuesday 30th November, all students in Year 7 and above and all adults must wear face coverings in communal areas, unless exempt.
Students must also wear face coverings in shops and on public transport. Please remind your child to bring a mask and carry a spare in their bag.
There is planned bus strike which will mean there will be no Stagecoach buses all of this week (29th November – 3rd December). This means there will be no 83 and 88 buses.
Other bus services will be running and students will need to catch the 81, 82, 218 or 271, which stop outside the Carter and Miller / Morrison’s (McColls).
Students should arrive to school no later than 9:15am and Y11 mock exams will continue to begin at 9.15am.
Please see the information below from the Schools’ Vaccination Team.
- Did your child miss their chance to have their COVID-19 vaccination in school?
- Please note if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 they need to wait 12 weeks before they can have a COVID 19 vaccine. (This guidance changed following JVCI recommendation on 15th November 2021)
The 0-19 Vaccination Team has been making visits to schools from 24th September 2021 to offer the COVID 19 vaccine for children age 12 to 15 years old and will continue to do this until the 1st December 2021. Please check with your school if you are unsure whether we have visited already.
We are aware that some young people may have been absent from school when our team visited, and if this is the case they can drop-in to one of our clinics below:
- Sheffield Children’s Out Patients Department – S10 2TH on the 7th December 2021 and the 13th December 2021, 5:30- 8:00pm
- Sharrow Community Forum, S7 1DB – 9th December 2021 and the 15th December 2021, 4:00-8:00pm
If you would prefer to make an appointment, or discuss anything with the team, please call 01143053230 or email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Children in Need
Our PTA Non-Uniform Day raised £515.46 for Children in Need. Many thanks for your support and contributions.
With Christmas nearly upon us, we are aware there are some students who wish to provide school staff who work closely with them with a thank you gift. While this is extremely generous and thoughtful, could we kindly ask if you do wish to provide any staff with a gift, that this is NOT in the form of cash or gift vouchers. Although we appreciate that vouchers are usually a great idea as a gift, unfortunately for us, acceptance of cash (including gift vouchers) by individuals, is against our school policies.
In the week 19th-26th November, three students (one Y7 and two Y9s) tested positive for Covid-19.
Good luck to our Year 7/8 Boys Cross Country Team who will be competing in the National Finals in Cornwall on Saturday.
