The pupils gained a variety of results in the recent ABRSM examinations but a notable mention goes to Ayla Garnett. She achieved a distinction in her Grade 3 piano examination. Well done to all.

Y10 pupil performs with G4

James O'Brian, one of our Y11 pupils had the privilege of performing with G4 at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield. James is part of the Pauline Quirke Academy and this is one of the many performance opportunities James has participated in. James thoroughly enjoyed performing with the professional opera group and looks forward to his next appearance on stage.

Pupils perform at Get Into Teaching Event at Sheffield Hallam University

Silverdale musicians were invited to perform at Sheffield Hallam University as part of the Get into Teaching conference on Saturday 15th September. The pupils produced a professional showcase that attracted the attention of passers by and were complimented on their professional attitude and stylistic performances.

Snowdrop Theatre Company

A variety of pupils participated in a workshop on Human Trafficking with Snowdrop Theatre Company. The pupils also got to attend the professional performance and Q and A questions. A wonderful experience for all involved.

Crucible work experience for Y10

The Y10 actors had the chance to work in the Crucible Theatre and experience the inner workings of this prestigious performance space. The pupils gained insight into the type of careers Drama could offer them and gained invaluable information that could potential inform future career pathways.

Midsummers Nights Dream

Silverdale pupils performed on The Crucible Stage as part of a Midsummers Nights Dream project. They have participated in workshops, q and a sessions and a tour of the backstage of the Sheffield Theatre. The pupils represented Silverdale in a professional way and performed with energy and creativity. Well done to all involved.

Y11 performance of devised work

Our Y11 actors performed their devised work as part of component one for their Edexcel GCSE in Drama. The pupils worked tirelessly to execute these pieces and performed with commitment and flair. We look forward to seeing more work from this class later in the academic year.

Tickets are now available for this exciting celebration of Y11 musicians. There will be a mixture of ensemble and performance pieces from the students and this will be recorded as part of their GCSE coursework. Tickets are now available from Resources or Miss Cooper and are priced at £4 for adults or £2 for concessions. Please come and support the class of 2019 on what promises to be a thrilling musical extravaganza.
